I would like to introduce myself to you giving you some information about my education, professional training and experience.

I have been a licensed physician since 1990. Since 1997 I have been working as a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy.

After twelve years of working in various hospitals (Zentrum der Psychiatrie der Universitätsklinik Frankfurt/Main, Neurologisches Rehabilitationszentrum Godeshöhe in Bonn-Bad Godesberg, Psychiatrisch-Psychotherapeutische Abteilung der Hardtwaldklinik I in Bad Zwesten, Konsiliar- und Krisendienst für Psychiatrie und Psychosomatik der Städtischen Kliniken Kassel, Tinnitusklinik Bad Arolsen, Klinik für Abhängigkeitserkrankungen am Bürgerhospital Frankfurt) in September 2001 I opened my own psychotherapeutic practice in Offenbach/Main.

In addition to my medical and psychiatric background I have been trained in a variety of therapeutic methods:

-Depth Psychology and Autogenic Training 1993 -1997 (Weiterbildungskreis Bad Zwesten) for individual and group therapy, normally covered by public and private health insurance (Gesetzliche und private Krankenversicherung)

For my interest in psychotherapy a workscholarship at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, in 1986 has been a crucial experience.

I did a two months internship at the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic in San Francisco, USA, in 1986 and spent three months as a final year student at the Department of Psychological Medicine, Clinical School of Medicine, Wellington, New Zealand, thereby acquiring some experience in medical and psychiatric/ psychotherapeutic work in English speaking countries.

In cooperation with the AStA (Student Union) of the Gesamthochschule Kassel (Polytechnic University) I facilitated a coming-out group for gay and bisexual men.
